When reviewing Medicare Advantage plans there are a few things to keep in mind!
Cost
How much will you pay for premiums, deductibles, coinsurance and co payments?
Don’t forget that your spouses work history can lower your Part A premiums, while many Medicare Advantage plans are offering 0 premium options!
Doctors and hospitals
Does the plan have a network? Do your healthcare providers operate in that network? Medicare Advantage plans come in HMO, PPO, and POS options. Compared to Original Medicare, this means you may need a referral to see a specialist! However, Advantage plans offer additional benefits and lower costs than Medicare Part A & Part B alone.
Benefits
Are you on Original Medicare? Or does your current Medicare Advantage or Supplemental plan include prescription drug coverage or coverage for vision, dental and hearing care? Are these benefits important to you?
Your health history
How often have you needed care over the past few years? How long have you been on your current plan? Are you fairly healthy or do you have a chronic condition that requires ongoing care? Do you anticipate that your healthcare needs will increase or stay about the same in the near future?
There are a broad range of Medicare Advantage and Medigap plans out there and we can assist you in discovering what plan will be ideal for you.
